Thanks very much to everyone who participated in this past Saturday's "Throwing for Haiti" benefit!
On Saturday the staff here at The Baseball, as well as some of our athletes and friends, gathered to test our top velocities and match it with a pledge to donate to the Canadian Red Cross's relief efforts in Haiti. The Baseball Zone staff made a pledge to donate $1 for every mile per hour and we were able to generate (with amazingly very little soreness!) a grand total of 699 MPH being led by Head Pitching Instructor Ryan Armstrong's 94 MPH!!! Our athletes and friends made their own personal pledges that also added up to an additional $644. So in the end we were able to generate a total donation of $1,343 which will be matched by the federal government for a grand total of $2,686!!!
Again, thanks very much for everyone who participated and for those of you who were not able to make it, we do hope that you can find a way to make your own contribution to our friends in Haiti who need our help so very much right now.
